Spring cleaning encomposses much more than simply cleaning your house and emotional baggage.  It also includes your precious body after the winterfest in front of the telly.  This is the time of year for renewal and rebirth, and for many that means the detox.  Some run a mile and would never endorse such a thing as a detox, saying that it does more harm than good.  I am no expert, but I can’t imagine how resting your digestive system and feeding your body only fresh healthy foods and juices for a short period can be bad for you?  Abstaining from certain foods that are known to create havoc in the body also seems like a good idea.  Plus, the cleaner we are the more able we are to be in tune with our higher selves, as chemicals and toxins block our natural abilities to be intuitive and therefore we cannot hear our inner guidance as well as we should.  Detoxing, to me seems like a good idea, it is not forever and therefore I cannot see it having any long term damaging affects.  I think the regurlar daily coffees many consume have far more devastating affects than the simple cleansing and revitalising of our digestive tracks.  It is good to give our hard working bodies a break, and to allow it to recharge, renew, and simply rest.  Constantly feeding it cooked heavy foods like meats etc., but it Under pressure, our digestive tracks were not meant for a load of heavy processed, chemical laddend foods.  it needs a break from all that we throw into it – as if it were  a skip that than take anything, any kind of rubbish.  We need to be alot more respectful of what we put into our bodies, it is the only one we have.  And any respite and rest that we can give it; be it temporary or full time it a welcome relief for it I imagine.
