‘Summertime and the living is easy’, as the song says! Yes, the season of summer is finally here. Long, warm days ly ahead of us. For us in the Northern Hemisphere, the summer solstice on June 21st; the longest day of the year beckoned the arrival of the new summer season. If you’re in Australia; then sorry your winter has just begun and its time for ye to put the beach balls away for another year. I love summer, the sun is much welcomed after a long winter and a cold spring here in France. The summer is a time of fruition, a season of spoils from mother Earth. It brings blessings, bounty, beauty and abundance, and an uplifting of our spirits, from the sublime sunlight. We recharge in the sun; like a run-down battery, we regain our charge and are energized. We need the sun, the warmth and the long days. We need to get out in it and not just admire the sunlight from our office blocks. Sunlight is vital for our health and well-being, we need to feel the sun on our skin; we need that vital vitamin D. One of the downsides of urbanization, is the loss of contact with our senses and the real sensation of the seasons. We lose touch with mother nature when we live in towers high above the ground. Therefore, we need to come back down to Earth so to speak. This is why I include the natural world on my blog, it is not to be airy-fairy, its because when we lose touch with mother nature; we lose touch with ourselves. Our connection to Mother Earth; to all living things is so important. All of life is so intimately connected and, yet, we do not fully realize nor comprehend it. The stars and planets are chakras for the Earth; it is why the sun makes us feel so good; as he gives us his energy. Stars and planets are vortex’s of energy for us here on Earth. We need to pay attention and to enjoy them, especially the sun star, as it is so vital for life on this planet. The summer heat can be intense giving way to lazy summer days; a time of relaxation and a time for kicking back, a time of reflection. Drawing us outdoors to play, drawing us closer to nature itself. Summer is a time of growth, a season of maturing; our interior summer if you like. The sun can be a reminder for us of that divine spark that is within each and every one of us. A reminder of how brightly we do shine, how much warmth we have inside of us. The sun and the seasons are really our own reflections, if only we stop to look…
