Well personally, 2023 already has brought its challenges, but I am well prepared as I try to remain grounded in Spirit. Knowing that I am not alone, and that help from Spirit is always readily available to me, all I have to do is remember to ask. I have said this many times, so I will not exaggerate but do remember to ask for help from the other realm, otherwise, due to our free will it can’t be given. On a brighter note, we can already see how the days are starting to stretch that little bit, and on Friday the 6th our evenings will be longer by 15 minutes. That in and of itself is cause for celebration. Many Irish women celebrate not only the feast of the Epiphany, on January 6th but, also, what is known as ‘Nollaig na mBan’, women’s Christmas in Irish. This is the tradition of women taking a well-deserved break after all the work and preparation that they had done for the Christmas season and dinner etc. And the men did the cooking on that day. January 6th is also the 12th day of Christmas, and traditionally also people did not take down the decorations before Little Christmas on Jan 6th. January 6th as I said is the feast of the Epiphany, the celebration of the three wise men who came from the east having followed a star in order to honour and pay homage to the Christ child. This story like a lot of biblical tales is highly symbolic. At its heart we have the ‘Christ child’ who was born or the ‘Christ consciousness’ that needs to be birthed in all of us: that is all of mankind, and this is what the three wise men/three Kings from the east symbolise – all of humanity. Christ consciousness is universal, prevalent and available to everyone. And just like the rising sun, Christ consciousness comes from the ‘east’. It is an illumination of consciousness, a new dawning for mankind. It is the time of awakening, from the sleepwalk of this reality into a new dimension of higher consciousness, therefore it is our salvation. And not from anything on the exterior, it is our salvation from the monkey mind that we ourselves have enslaved ourselves to. It is salvation from our lower selves, our egocentric selves. The three men were ‘wise’ because they recognised the Christ child or Christ consciousness that needs to be searched for and birthed within by us all. We too need to be wise just like them and to seek out the Christed inner child that is within us ready to be born in a new consciousness. The three wise men after paying homage to the newborn child, took another route home, as they had found a new way, a new way of Being; a new consciousness had dawned on them. We too can also do this as we enter into a new year, we can try to make more of a conscious effort to find this new route that will lead us to fulfilment, wholeness and therefore joy. This new route found in Christ consciousness will have its humps and bumps but that too is ok, as we remember that the journey is just as important as the final destination. So have a very merry little Christmas on Jan 6th, and follow your star where ever that may lead.
